How to download Cisco Packet Tracer on the new Netacad Website ?
You can download Cisco Packet Tracer 9.0.0 for FREE from the official Cisco Netacad website. The software comes with several tutorial files that allow academy students to enhance their learning experience.
Step 1 : Log in to Cisco Netacad.com learning website and select Explore > Learning Catalog > Cisco Packet Tracer in the menu to access the download page.

Step 2 : Find the "Time to use Cisco Packet Tracer v8.2.2" article and click on the article title.

Step 3 : Click on the Cisco Packet Tracer download link to access the official download page. The page provides basic guidelines to install Cisco Packet Tracer.

After several months of testing, GNS3 v3.0 has been released for download on December 20th, 2024. This version provides significant user experience enhancements. It allow GNS3 to run in the cloud, feature a new web interface and improved security.

Cisco Modeling Labs 2.9.0
Cisco Modeling Labs is a virtualized network simulation environment offering Netacad students the chance to practice networking labs using real Cisco devices images (IOS, IOS-XE, ASA, ....). Buying expensive network devices is not required anymore for optimal CCNP Enterprise or CCIE exams preparation experience. Cisco Modeling Labs OVA can be downloaded for free on Cisco website. Five Cisco network devices images are provided for free in CML 2.9.0 reference platform ISO refplat-20250616-free-iso.zip archive. Additional node definitions are freely available on CML community github repository.

Cisco NX-OSv 9000 appliance
The NX-OSv 9000 is a virtual appliance designed to simulate the control plane of a Cisco Nexus 9000 switch. The NX-OSv 9000 shares the same software image running on Cisco Nexus 9000 hardware platform. The NX-OSv 9000 software emulates line card (LC) ASICs and all interactions from the control plane to the relay switch ASICs.
