hello engineers,

It's fairly simple but in packettracer I cannot managed it to configure.
I want the port fas0/24 of the switch to operate as a trunk.
In the real world I use the command:

Switch(config-if)#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

This command is not accepted in packettracer.

Question:

Is this a shortcoming of packettracer ?
If so, is there a workaround for it ?

ThanX in advance for your reply !

Kind regards,

Django

Hi,

The command "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" is working on 3560 multilayer switch in Packet Tracer 5.3. This command is not working on L2 switches (2950 or 2960).
